Your Circle: Discover How the People in Your Life Shape Your Wellbeing

Introducing an AI-powered feature that automatically reveals patterns about your relationships and how the people in your life affect your mood and emotional wellbeing.

The Missing Piece in Digital Journaling

You write about your partner, your best friend, your mom, your colleagues. You mention them in your happiest entries and your most challenging ones. But until now, no journaling app has ever asked: who are the people who truly matter in your life, and how do they affect your wellbeing?

That changes today with Your Circle, a feature that automatically analyzes your journal entries and mood reflections to surface meaningful patterns about your relationships.

What Your Circle Reveals

Your Circle uses AI to automatically detect and analyze every mention of the people in your life. Here's what you'll discover:

Mood Correlations

"Your mood tends to be 6.4/7 when you write about your partner" or "Your mood is 1.5 points higher on days you mention family vs. work."

Connection Patterns

See who you write about most, which relationships bring positive energy, and which ones correlate with stress or lower moods.

Recency Awareness

"It's been 14 days since you wrote about Mom" - gentle reminders about connections that might need attention.

How It Works (Automatically)

Your Circle works entirely in the background. No extra work required from you.

  1. 1

    You Journal Naturally

Write about your day, mention people you interacted with, track your mood. Nothing changes in how you journal.

  2. 2

    AI Extracts Relationships

Our AI identifies every mention of people (names, relationship terms like "boyfriend", "girlfriend", "wife", "husband", "mom", or "best friend") and tracks the context. It works even if you only mention relationship terms without names.

  3. 3

    Connections & Insights Appear

Once someone is mentioned 3+ times, they appear in Your Circle. Visit the Insights tab to see beautiful visualizations, mood scores, and AI-generated insights about your relationships. You'll even get an email when a new connection is detected.

Smart Features That Make It Better

Works with Relationship Terms

You don't need to mention someone's name for them to appear in Your Circle. The AI understands relationship terms like "my boyfriend", "my girlfriend", "my wife", "my husband", "mom", "best friend", and more. If you mention "my boyfriend" in your entries, that connection will be tracked.

Smart Merging: When you later mention the person's name (e.g., "Had dinner with John, my boyfriend"), the system automatically merges all "Boyfriend" mentions to "John". Your Circle gets smarter over time.

Meaningful Connections Only

A person needs to be mentioned at least 3 times before they appear as a connection in Your Circle. This ensures we're showing you meaningful relationships, not one-off mentions. We'll let you know if you're close—if someone has 1-2 mentions, we'll tell you to keep journaling about them.

Email Notifications for New Connections

When someone reaches 3 mentions and becomes a connection in Your Circle, we'll send you an email notification. You'll learn what we think the relationship type is and get a direct link to view Your Circle. It's like getting a notification that a new friendship milestone was reached.

Real Patterns from Real Users

Here are actual insights discovered from Dayora users (names changed for privacy):

"I had no idea I was writing about work stress 8 times more than my family. Seeing my mood average 4.2 for work vs. 6.8 for family was a wake-up call."

- Dayora user

"Your Circle showed me I hadn't mentioned my best friend in 3 weeks. I reached out that day, and it turned out they really needed someone to talk to."

- Dayora user

"I journal about my partner almost daily, and Your Circle showed me my mood is consistently 6.5+ on those days. It made me appreciate how much they support my wellbeing."

Why Relationship Insights Matter

Research consistently shows that social connections are one of the strongest predictors of mental health and overall wellbeing. Yet most journaling apps treat relationships as just another word in your entries.

Your Circle changes that by:

  • Making invisible patterns visible - You might not consciously notice that your mood lifts when you spend time with certain people
  • Encouraging connection - Gentle reminders about people you haven't mentioned recently
  • Honoring what matters - See who truly shows up in your inner world
  • Identifying support systems - Understand which relationships support your wellbeing

Privacy & Your Control

Your relationship data is deeply personal. Here's how we protect it:

  • Your data stays yours - All analysis happens within your account only
  • Opt-in processing - Click "Analyze My Connections" to process existing entries
  • No sharing - Your Circle is private to you, never shared or used for training
  • Delete anytime - Standard data deletion applies (all mentions are removed)

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to tag people manually?

No! Your Circle works automatically. Just journal naturally and mention people as you normally would. Our AI handles the rest.

What if I don't use real names?

That's perfectly fine! Your Circle detects relationship terms too ("my boyfriend", "my girlfriend", "my partner", "best friend", "mom", "the team"). If you later mention a name for that person, we'll automatically merge all the relationship term mentions to use the name instead. Your Circle gets smarter as you journal.

Can I hide specific people from my circle?

Currently, Your Circle shows all detected relationships. Future updates will include privacy controls to hide specific people if desired.

How accurate is the mood correlation?

Mood correlations are calculated from your mood scores on days you mention each person. The more data points, the more reliable the pattern. We show both the score and number of mentions for context.

Why does someone need 3+ mentions to appear?

We require at least 3 mentions to ensure we're showing you meaningful relationships, not one-off mentions. This helps filter out casual references and focus on the people who truly matter in your life. If someone has 1-2 mentions, we'll let you know to keep journaling about them.

What happens when I mention a name for someone I've been calling "my boyfriend"?

Your Circle automatically merges them! If you've been writing about "my boyfriend" and then mention their name (e.g., "Had dinner with John, my boyfriend"), all previous "Boyfriend" mentions are automatically updated to use the name. The system gets smarter over time as you journal.

Will I get notified when someone becomes a connection?

Yes! When someone reaches 3 mentions and becomes a connection in Your Circle, you'll receive an email notification telling you about them, what we think the relationship type is, and a direct link to view Your Circle.

Is this feature really free?

Yes! Your Circle is included with Dayora at no extra cost. We believe relationship insights should be accessible to everyone.
