Chat-to-Journal: AI Journaling via Conversation
Start with a conversation. Reflect helps you put words to what happened, what you felt, and the thought you want to carry into your journal.
See how Dayora turns an entry into a reflection.

Start with the thing you can say.
You do not need a polished entry. A conversation in Reflect can help you find the thought you want to keep.
How chat-to-journal works
A natural conversation that helps you process thoughts and create journal entries
Start a conversation
Just start talking about what's on your mind. No need to structure your thoughts - the AI understands natural language and helps you explore your feelings.
Process together
The AI asks thoughtful questions, offers perspective, and helps you dig deeper. It's like talking to a trusted friend who helps you understand yourself better.
Save to your journal
When you're ready, the conversation automatically becomes a journal entry. Link it to specific entries or keep it as a standalone reflection.
Why chat-to-journal is powerful

Common questions
What is chat-to-journal?
Instead of facing a blank page, you talk through what is on your mind and Dayora asks questions back. When you are done, the conversation is saved to your account as a reflection you can return to, and you can link it to a specific journal entry or keep it standalone.
Does Dayora remember what we talked about last time?
Yes. Reflect conversations are saved and persist across sessions, so you can reopen any past conversation from the Reflect list and pick up where you left off. Dayora does not replay every past message word for word: longer conversations are condensed into short summaries that feed into later chats, and a rolling memory of recurring themes and people builds up from your entries over time.
Is chat-to-journal free?
Yes. Chat-to-journal is part of the free core of Dayora, with no ads, no credit card and no limit on how much you use it. It is not moving behind the optional Dayora Plus membership, which only adds voice calls, a daily synthesis email and Deep Self Reports.
Can I import my existing ChatGPT conversations or Day One entries?
ChatGPT, yes. Request a data export from ChatGPT (Settings, then Data controls, then Export data) and hand Dayora the zip. It reads the export in your own browser, suggests the messages that read like journaling, and saves the ones you pick dated to the days you originally wrote them. Only the entries you tick are ever uploaded. There is still no import from Notion, Day One, or other journaling tools.
Can I delete a conversation?
Yes. You can delete any conversation from the Reflect list at any time. Once deleted, it no longer feeds into Dayora's memory for future chats.
What happens if I write about something I am struggling with?
If an entry or message reads as a crisis moment, Dayora does not try to reflect on it or offer an insight. It points to human crisis resources instead.
