Connect Claude or ChatGPT to your Dayora journal

Let Claude, ChatGPT or another app that supports MCP connectors read your Dayora journal and, if you allow it, add entries and log your mood. How to connect it, what it can and cannot do, and how to disconnect it.

One small thing

Before your next yes, give yourself permission to say, “Let me check.”

A shortened example of an entry and its reflection. Choose either sample to see the response change. Real reflections depend on what you write.

Free on every Dayora account. You need a Dayora account and an app that lets you add a connector by its address.

What connecting does

Dayora can connect to an AI app you already use, such as Claude, ChatGPT or any other app that supports MCP connectors. Once connected, you can ask that app about your journal: it can read your entries, Dayora's replies and your moods.

If you allow it, the app can also add entries and log your mood for you. You decide this when you connect, and you can disconnect at any time.

Find Dayora's address

Dayora's connector address is https://www.dayora.ai/api/mcp. You add it to the other app, and the app then sends you to Dayora to sign in and choose what it can do.

You can also find it in Dayora: open Profile, then AI agents. The address is under “Connect an app”, with a Copy button. Dayora is not listed in the Claude or ChatGPT app directories yet, so for now it is added by this address.

Add it in Claude

At the time of writing, in Claude you open Customize, then Connectors, choose Add, then “Add custom connector”, give it a name such as Dayora and paste the address. Claude then sends you to Dayora to connect. On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds the connector for the organisation first, and you then press Connect beside it.

Menus can change. Whether an app offers custom connectors depends on that app and your plan, so if you cannot find the option, check Anthropic's own instructions.

Add it in ChatGPT or another app

At the time of writing, in ChatGPT you open Plugins (chatgpt.com/plugins), press the plus button, then “Add custom MCP server”, give it a name such as Dayora, paste the address above as its public endpoint and choose OAuth. ChatGPT then sends you to Dayora to connect. In a work or school workspace, an admin may need to allow custom servers first.

Any other app that can add an MCP connector by its address works the same way. Menus can change, and whether an app offers custom connectors depends on that app and your plan.

Choose what it can do in Dayora

The app sends you to a Dayora page that asks “Connect Claude to your journal?” (or ChatGPT, or the app's name). Sign in there if you need to. The page says which account is signed in, and “Use a different account” lets you switch.

If the app asked to write, “Also let it add entries and log your mood” is ticked. Untick it to let the app only read. Then press Connect, or Cancel, and Dayora sends you back to the app.

What a connected app can do

Every connected app can read. Writing is only possible if you left writing ticked when you connected.

  • List your entries, newest first, and find the ones containing certain words. Archived entries are left out of the list.
  • Read one whole entry and Dayora's reply to it.
  • Read your day moods, up to 400 days back.
  • With writing allowed: write an entry. It is saved in your journal as yours, and Dayora replies to it just as it does in the app.
  • With writing allowed: log a day's mood, from rough to great, for today or a past day, with an optional note. Logging a mood for a day that already has one replaces it.

See what a few ordinary words can give back.

Try both examples. Dayora’s free core reads each new entry and writes back in a way that fits it, sometimes with one small thing to try. You can start with one sentence.

What it can never do

No connected app can ever change or delete an entry or a mood, or see or change your account, plan, settings or export. Those stay in the app.

Connected apps and keys can save up to 30 entries an hour and 60 a day between them, and log up to 60 moods a day.

Disconnecting

Connected apps are listed in Dayora at Profile, then AI agents, under “Connected apps”, with whether each can write and when it was last used. Disconnect stops an app at once.

A connection that goes unused for 90 days ends by itself, and the app asks you to connect again. Connecting the same app again replaces its connection. Deleting your Dayora account deletes its connections too.

To delete your journal itself, open Profile, then Account and data, and choose “Delete your account”. It is immediate and permanent, so download a copy there first if you want to keep one.

Keys for agents that cannot sign in

For an agent that cannot sign in, such as a script of your own, make a key on the same page instead: name it, choose Read only or Read and write, and press “Make the key”. The key is shown once, with the server address, and Dayora cannot show it again.

Each key stops working a year after you make it, you can have up to 10 at once, and Revoke stops a key at once. Anyone who has a key can read your journal, so keep it private, like a password.

Privacy

When Dayora has checked that the request really comes from Claude or ChatGPT, the connect page shows “Checked by Dayora”, who makes the app (Anthropic for Claude, OpenAI for ChatGPT) and a link to that company's privacy policy. Any other app is shown as “Not checked by Dayora”: only continue if you have just started connecting it yourself.

Once connected, what the app reads from your journal is handled by the company that makes it, under its own privacy policy. How Dayora itself handles your journal is in Dayora's privacy policy.

Questions and answers

Does connecting an app cost anything?

Not in Dayora: AI agents are on every Dayora account. Whether the other app lets you add custom connectors can depend on that app and your plan there.

Is Dayora in the Claude or ChatGPT app directory?

Not yet. For now you add Dayora by its address, https://www.dayora.ai/api/mcp.

Can I let an app read my journal without writing to it?

Yes. On Dayora's connect page, untick “Also let it add entries and log your mood” before you press Connect.

Can a connected app change or delete what I wrote?

No. No app can change or delete an entry or a mood, or see your account, plan, settings or export.

I turned AI off in Dayora. Can a connected app still read my journal?

Yes. Where Dayora has the switch to turn AI off for your journal, it does not cover apps you connected yourself, because you chose to let them in. Disconnect the app to stop that.

How do I stop an app using my journal?

In Dayora, open Profile, then AI agents, and press Disconnect beside it under “Connected apps”. It stops at once.
