Choose your language when you sign up and Dayora follows it: the screens, the reflections, the summaries, the conversations. And you are never held to it. Write an entry in any language at all and the answer comes back in the language you wrote it in.
The 11 you can choose
Setting one of these translates the app itself and tells Dayora what to write back in. It is not a limit on what you can write: entries in any other language are read, stored as you wrote them, and answered in that same language.
It answers in your language
The reflection, the summary, the next step and the question all come back in the language of the entry, not in English with a translation bolted on. Your own words are never translated when Dayora quotes them back to you.
Speak it instead
Voice notes are transcribed in whatever language you spoke, detected automatically rather than assumed. Spoken replies on a Dayora call are still English only, which is the one place your language does not yet carry.
Switch whenever
One tap at Profile then Language. If you have drifted into writing in a different language from the one that is set, Dayora notices after a few entries and offers once to switch, with a way to say don't ask again.
Questions
What languages does Dayora support?
Dayora's interface and its written replies can be set to 11 languages: English (English), Español (Spanish), Português (Portuguese), Français (French), Nederlands (Dutch), Polski (Polish), Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian), 日本語 (Japanese), Deutsch (German), Italiano (Italian), Suomi (Finnish). Separately from that setting, you can write an entry in any language at all, including ones not on this list, and Dayora's reflection comes back in the language you wrote. The setting decides what Dayora uses when there is nothing to go on, such as a daily summary email.
Can I journal in a language that is not on the list?
Yes. Dayora reads any language, entries are stored exactly as you wrote them, and the reflection follows the language of the entry rather than your setting. Somebody journaling in Korean gets Korean back. The list of 11 is what you can save as a standing preference and what the app's own buttons and menus are translated into, not a limit on what you can write.
Is the multilingual version free?
Yes. Language is not a paid feature and never has been. The free core is the same in every language: unlimited entries, an AI reflection on every one, voice journaling, mood tracking, Reflect conversations and full export, with no credit card and no ads.
How do I change the language?
You are asked on the first step of setup, where Dayora guesses from your device and shows you what it picked so you can correct it. After that it is at Profile then Language, and it takes one tap. If you have been writing in a different language from the one that is set, Dayora offers once to switch, with a "don't ask again" option.
Does voice journaling work in other languages?
Voice notes are transcribed in whatever language you spoke, detected automatically, and the entry is stored in that language. Spoken replies during a Call Dayora voice call are English only at present, so a call is currently the one part of Dayora that does not follow your language. Everything written does.
Is the whole app translated, or just some of it?
The AI layer, crisis handling, onboarding, sign-in, the main app screens and most emails are translated. Some error messages and four email templates are still English and are being worked through. Dayora would rather say that plainly than imply the translation is complete when it is not.
What happens if I write about being in danger, in another language?
Dayora looks for that in every language on every entry, never only in the one you set, and responds with crisis resources in the language it detects, including a local helpline where it has a verified one. That covers English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Dutch, Polish, Finnish, Indonesian, Japanese, German and Italian. findahelpline.com is offered everywhere as a fallback. Dayora is not a crisis service and does not replace one.
