Two pages, split at the fold
Open Dayora in Safari on an iPhone Duo, unfold it the way you would open a book, and the new Dayora experience lays itself out as two pages:
- Today: your mood, your rhythm and the day's cards on the left page. The question and the page you are writing on, on the right.
- Chat: your recent chats on the left. The conversation, and the box you type or talk into, on the right.
- Insights: the ways further in on the left. This week and what Dayora noticed on the right.
- Journey: search, filters and the people in your pages on the left. Your entries on the right.
The gap between the two pages sits on the fold, so a line of your writing never runs across the crease. The tabs move to a slim rail down the left edge, where your thumb already is.
Every way you hold it
- Folded: the phone layout you already know, with the tabs along the bottom.
- Folded and turned on its side: the tabs shrink to icons, so a short screen is mostly page.
- Open and turned on its side: one column at a comfortable reading width, with the tabs within a thumb's reach, instead of a phone layout stretched edge to edge.
- Open like a book: the two pages.
Fold or unfold in the middle of an entry and every word you have typed stays where it was. The page rearranges around your writing; it does not start again.
Why it goes by shape, not by device
Safari does not tell a web page that it is on a foldable, or where the fold is, and the iPhone Duo introduces itself to websites as an ordinary iPhone. So Dayora does not try to guess the device.
It looks at the shape of the screen it has been given. Wide, short and touch is an open book. Narrow is a phone. That also means Dayora in Split View, beside another app, gets the layout that fits the space it actually has, not the one the whole screen would have.
Getting it
- Open dayora.ai in Safari on your iPhone Duo and sign in, or create a free account. There is nothing to download.
- To keep it one tap away, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.
- The two pages are part of the new Dayora experience, on the free plan and on Plus. Accounts still on the classic experience keep the layout they have.
What it does not do yet
- Change for a half-open phone. Safari does not tell a page how far the Duo is folded, so a tent or laptop pose gets whichever layout fits the screen in use.
- Two pages in the classic experience.
Questions
Does Dayora work on the iPhone Duo?
Yes, in Safari, on the outer screen and on the big inner one. Open dayora.ai and sign in. There is nothing to install.
Is there an iPhone Duo app?
Not on the App Store yet. Dayora runs in Safari, and you can add it to your Home Screen from the Share menu so it opens like an app.
Is the two-page layout free?
Yes. It is part of the new Dayora experience, on the free plan and on Plus.
Will I lose what I am writing if I unfold the phone?
No. The page rearranges around your writing, and what you have typed stays in the box.
